A range of medicines and medical supplies are available at our in-house pharmacy. The benefit of having an in-house pharmacy are that we can provide medications directly to our members and patients on site.  This means we can explain how to use the medications and answer any questions that may arise.

The doctors and nurses want to ensure that every patient understands and is confident in administrating the medicines at home.

Products not held will be supplied through our partner pharmacies and suppliers.

Our messenger can deliver the products to your home if you are unable to collect them yourself. If you prefer we could also provide just the prescription and you buy your medicines elsewhere.

Dispensing of Sedative and Controlled Psychotropic Medication

We regularly get questions about why our pharmacy only provides sedative medicines (usually referred to as “sleeping pills”) or other psychotropic medication (antidepressant, mood stabilizer, antipsychotic, etc.) with a prescription from our doctor following a consultation, also for repeated use.

Let us explain the reasons.

Sedatives, antidepressants, or other controlled psychotropic medications are a group of drugs prescribed by doctors, after consultation and careful consideration, to treat disorders usually related to stress or anxiety.

These drugs are sometimes improperly used by patients which may cause dependency, intolerance, withdrawal symptoms, and/or other negative effects.

Under the regulations of the Thai Food and Drug Administration dispensing sedatives, antidepressants, and other controlled psychotropic medications are only allowed with a doctor’s prescription. It is not only because of legal compliance that our doctors would like to see patients before providing a (first or repeat) prescription. The use of these drugs must be carefully managed to reduce the associated risks. For many conditions, there are also alternative, less risky treatment options such as rehabilitation, counseling, acupuncture, herbal medicines, to name a few.
