In-House Laboratory Services

The Be Well Medical Center provides a range of laboratory tests to support prompt diagnostics and high-quality care. With the latest equipment installed at our Belvida facility, most routine and many advanced tests can now be performed on-site, providing faster results and reducing the need for external laboratory services.

Laboratory Expansion

Be Well established a medical laboratory at the Belvida location in 2020 for a range of basic blood and urine tests, while advanced tests were outsourced. Over time we gradually increased the range.

Given the continuous growth of demand for lab tests, we decided to implement a major upgrade over the past two months to serve patients better and faster.

The installed equipment meets the highest international standards for accuracy, quality, and consistency. Additionally, preparations to have the laboratory ISO 15189 accredited are in progress.

The main devices in the Be Well lab are:

Chemistry analyzer: model Indiko ISE

Thermo Fisher Scientific

A chemistry analyzer measures levels of substances like glucose, proteins, lipids, enzymes, and electrolytes in blood, urine, and other fluids. These measurements provide information about organ function and metabolic processes, enabling our doctors to diagnose conditions such as diabetes, kidney disease, liver dysfunction, and heart problems.

Hematology analyzer: XN-330

Sysmex

The XN-330 is a fully automated compact 6-part differential hematology analyzer. It automatically counts and measures various components of a blood sample, including red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets, to perform a Complete Blood Count (CBC). This technology provides fast, accurate results that help our doctors diagnose and monitor a wide range of conditions such as anemia, infections, and cancers.

Urine analyzer: model UC-1000

Sysmex

A urine analyzer tests urine samples for various components such as glucose, protein, blood cells, and ketones by reading chemical reagent test strips. It supports doctors in diagnosing and monitoring conditions like diabetes, kidney disorders, urinary tract infections, and liver problems.

Microscope: model CX-23

Olympus

Our laboratory technicians use this microscope to examine patient samples such as blood, urine, stool, and tissue. They analyze cells and microorganisms to identify infections, monitor conditions such as cancer and diabetes, and characterize cellular changes.

Besides the tests conducted by the above devices, we also perform a range of tests using other technologies, for example for the analysis of certain viruses.

Many tests can be performed within a short time frame, and every effort will be made to have results available within 60 minutes. This allows patients to wait for their results and review the outcome with our medical team during a one-stop visit at Belvida.

Highly specialized tests (for example for hormones and certain tumor markers) will continue to be outsourced.

Laboratory Team

The Be Well labs are managed by experienced medical laboratory technicians. The team is supported by retired clinical pathologist Dr. Gurdeep Dhatt, a member of our Advisory Committee, who provides expert guidance and quality control oversight.

Annual Health Checkup for Members

Be Well Members receive complimentary essential blood and urine tests as part of their annual checkup. The annual checkup offers a thorough review of your health, including standard screenings and optional add-ons for a more detailed assessment.

During the checkup, Members may choose to add advanced tests or diagnostic packages.
