Be Well 2020: Success in Challenging Times
We wish to thank all Members for being part of the Be Well family. Over the course of the year our membership has grown beyond all predictions, despite the travel restrictions of Covid-19. Although 2020 has been one of the strangest of years, it’s been a successful first year for Be Well.
Your participation is central to our success. If we cannot exceed your expectations then we aspire to at least meet them, so if you have suggestions for new services or improvements that you’d like to see at Be Well please let us know.
Here is an update on what has been happening at Be Well this year.
Be Well & Covid-19
Our new clinic at Banyan had just opened when reports began of a strange viral illness in China. With little information available to the local community, Be Well took the lead in those early days, promoting the hygiene measures that have since become familiar parts of our daily life.
Local radio interviews, public service announcements and Q&A visits to local schools and hotels are some examples of our activities during the early part of the year.
Luckily, the situation in Thailand didn’t deteriorate like it did overseas. Let’s hope that 2021 sees the lifting of travel restrictions and a return to ‘old-normal’ life again.
Be Well staff review
Many new faces joined the Be Well team this year. Dr. Chris as manager was followed by Nurse Oiy and then, in the summer, Dr. Mowae became our second full-time doctor. Later in the year we also welcomed Belle to work on reception and added Leigh who runs our marketing and public relations.
Breaking news! – Claire, a practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture, has just become the latest addition to the Be Well team. Appointments with Claire will be available from Monday 21st December (call 02 111 6644 or email for details).
Be Well services review
Our core service providing family doctor appointments and on-site physiotherapy has gradually expanded over the year. Now we also have support from a number of visiting primary care specialist services in urology, orthopaedics, hearing aid clinics and psychology services.
Towards the end of the year, our seminars on prostate health and relaxation techniques were well received and many Be Well members attended. As a result, further seminars are planned for 2021.
In December, we opened the second floor of the Be Well clinic. This area features a number of consulting rooms as well as a large physiotherapy and rehabilitation room. Details of the new upstairs services will be released soon.
This year we were very pleased to establish official relationships with two leading Bangkok hospitals: Bumrungrad International Hospital and Samitivej Hospital. These collaborations will not only benefit Members who visit these hospitals but also allow us to bring expert services directly into our Hua Hin clinic.
Finally, the Be Well Children’s Charity Foundation was launched in December this year, to provide medical assistance for less fortunate local children.
Summary
All things said, ’new normal’ 2020 has been a challenging but successful first year for Be Well Medical Center. We would again like to thank all of our Members for your support and wish you, your family and friends a happy and healthy 2021.
Stay well – Be Well.
